RF Skin Needling combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy to enhance skin rejuvenation. Using a combination of needling and radio frequency allows for deeper rejuvenation and repair
RF Microneedling starts with a consultation to assess your skin and goals. On treatment day, the area is numbed. The procedure lasts 30–60 minutes. Afterward, soothing products are applied, and mild redness or swelling may occur but downtime is minimal. Results gradually appear over weeks as collagen production increases, with best outcomes after multiple sessions.
RF Microneedling treats a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, sagging skin, enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, and hyperpigmentation. By stimulating collagen and elastin production, it helps improve skin firmness, smoothness, and overall complexion.
Initial improvements, such as smoother texture and tighter skin, are often visible within 1–2 weeks after treatment. However, optimal results—like reduced wrinkles and scars—typically take 4–6 weeks as collagen production continues. Full results are usually seen after multiple sessions spaced a few weeks apart.
Typically, 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart are recommended for the best results, but this can vary based on individual needs and goals.
Sometimes, although we have taken every measure to make the treatment comfortable, with a device that offers speed, comfort and cooling depending on the area we treat and the thickness it can pinch a little. Usually for a second and then it's gone.
Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, and slight tenderness, which typically subside within a few days. More serious side effects are rare.
A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure, so discomfort is usually minimal. Some patients describe it as a mild tingling or prickling sensation.
To prepare for RF Microneedling, follow these steps:
Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun for at least a week before your treatment to prevent skin sensitivity.
Discontinue Retinoids and Exfoliants: Stop using retinol, glycolic acid, and other exfoliating products 3–5 days prior to the procedure.
Avoid Anti-Inflammatory Medications: Refrain from using aspirin, ibuprofen, or other anti-inflammatories a few days before, as they may increase bruising.
Feed Your Skin: Follow the skincare routine your therpaist gives you
No Chemical Peels or Laser Treatments: Avoid aggressive skin treatments for at least 2 weeks before RF Microneedling.
Discuss Medications: Inform your clinician of any medications or skin conditions to ensure safe treatment.
Your clinician may provide specific instructions based on your skin type and goals.
