For all the women and men out there who feel stuck because they’re raw-dogging their late-diagnosed AuDHD/ADHD—misunderstood, complicated, and expected to just ride over invisible barriers—I see you.
I have always been an ambitious, literate woman despite the fact that I can’t read through a novel. I knew I had a book in me, one that challenged ideas, connected the dots, and explored an area of science that, frankly, doesn’t exist yet. My book, Decoding Inflammation, is more than just research—it’s a framework for understanding the deeper, systemic issues that drive chronic skin conditions and health struggles.
The problem? I had the words, but I couldn’t get them out in a linear way. Thoughts swirled in my mind, connections formed, but writing felt like a battle. Until I discovered AI.
AI became the missing link between my hyperactive, idea-driven brain and the structured, readable book I wanted to create. It helped me:
✔️ Organise fragmented thoughts into cohesive sections
✔️ Expand on key concepts without losing focus
✔️ Bridge gaps between research and real-world application
✔️ Move past the paralysis of perfectionism
Like many ADHD minds, I didn’t sit down one day and decide to write a book. It happened intuitively. One moment, I was watching my kids swim over the Christmas holidays, and the next, I was deep in a writing flow. AI became my co-pilot, structuring my ideas as fast as I could think them.
Traditional writing methods never worked for me. I couldn’t outline my book chapter by chapter in advance. I couldn’t force myself into a structured writing schedule.
But AI allowed me to work the way my brain works—jumping between ideas, circling back to earlier thoughts, and refining as I went. It gave me the freedom to create without constraints, without the fear that I’d forget my best ideas before I could type them out.
Now, I can proudly say I authored that book. Me. The person who can’t sit through an uninteresting newspaper article, let alone plan and write an entire manuscript from start to finish. AI didn’t write my book for me—it gave me the structure and support I needed to finally bring it to life.
If you’re like me—a thinker, a creator, an innovator—but you’re paralysed by the mechanics of execution, AI might just be the bridge you need. It’s not a shortcut or a cheat code; it’s a tool that can finally help you express the brilliance that’s already inside you.
You don’t need to wait for the perfect time, the perfect method, or the perfect mindset. Just start, in whatever way feels natural. AI can handle the structure—you bring the magic.
