Skin concern

Scarring.

Rolling scars. Post-inflammatory pigmentation. Post-inflammatory erythema.

What's actually going on

Not all scars are the same. Rolling scars are depressions caused by collagen loss beneath the surface, pulling the skin down. PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) is dark marks where chronic inflammation has disrupted melanin regulation. PIE (post-inflammatory erythema) is persistent redness from damaged blood vessels after prolonged inflammatory activity. Each type has a different mechanism, but they all share the same root cause: inflammation that wasn't properly resolved.

The common approach

Topical lightening creams for pigmentation. Basic needling or laser for rolling scars. Time and hope for redness. The problem is that pigmentation sitting in the dermis won't respond to surface creams. Rolling scars need collagen remodelling at depth, not just stimulation. PIE needs vascular support, not bleaching agents. And if the underlying inflammation hasn't been addressed, new scarring continues to form while you're trying to fix the old.

How we treat it

We identify which type of scarring you have and treat the mechanism, not just the appearance. For rolling scars, precision needling at depth with compound delivery promotes collagen remodelling where the deficit actually is. For PIH, targeted compounds are delivered into the dermal layer to regulate melanin production at source. For PIE, we support vascular recovery and reduce residual inflammation. Most clients present with a combination. The treatment plan reflects that.
